CheckPrice.ca is operated by Victor Chan ("CheckPrice," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use CheckPrice.ca.

Information we handle

• Information you voluntarily provide when contacting us, such as your email address and message.
• Standard technical information received by our server, such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, and error information.
• Watch List selections stored locally in your browser using local storage. They are not synchronized to a CheckPrice account.

How information is used

We use information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website; respond to inquiries and correction requests; detect misuse or security incidents; and meet legal obligations.

Retailer images and external links

Product images may be loaded from retailer or content-delivery-network servers. Those services may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser information, and referring page. When you follow a retailer or other external link, that third party's privacy practices apply. CheckPrice.ca does not control third-party websites.

Local storage

The Watch List uses local browser storage after consent and does not require an account. You can remove saved items through the Watch List or by clearing CheckPrice.ca's site data in your browser.

Advertising and affiliate services

CheckPrice.ca does not currently display third-party advertising, use Google Ads, or receive affiliate commissions. We will update this policy and provide any required notices or choices before introducing those services.

Disclosure, retention, and security

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information to service providers that operate or secure the website, when required or permitted by law, or when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, or a security incident.

Routine server access and application logs are retained for up to 30 days. Security-related logs may be retained for up to six months. Information connected to suspected abuse, a security incident, a legal requirement, or an active investigation may be retained longer when reasonably necessary. Expired logs are securely deleted.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no Internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access or correction where applicable. You may also withdraw consent, subject to legal restrictions. Send requests to [email protected].

CheckPrice.ca is intended for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian may contact us about information submitted by a child.

CheckPrice.ca is an independent price-comparison and product-information service. It organizes publicly available or retailer-provided information to help users compare products, prices, package sizes, availability, and offers.

Price and product accuracy

Prices, availability, discounts, package sizes, images, and offer conditions can change without notice. Information may be delayed, incomplete, incorrectly grouped, or affected by location and eligibility requirements. Confirm all information directly with the retailer before travelling or purchasing. The retailer's website, store, receipt, and terms govern the transaction.

Retailers and third-party services

Unless expressly stated, CheckPrice.ca is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the retailers displayed. Retailer names, logos, trademarks, and product images belong to their respective owners. CheckPrice.ca is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, pricing, products, services, transactions, or privacy practices.

Permitted use

You may use CheckPrice.ca for lawful, personal, non-commercial price comparison. You may not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, circumvent security controls, overload the service, or copy, republish, resell, or commercially exploit substantial portions of the website without written permission.

Intellectual property

CheckPrice.ca's original software, interface, branding, organization, and written content are owned by Victor Chan or applicable licensors. Third-party trademarks and content remain the property of their respective owners.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

CheckPrice.ca is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties concerning accuracy, availability, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. CheckPrice.ca and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from reliance on website information, third-party purchases, unavailable products, incorrect prices, or service interruptions. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes and governing law

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website and may update these Terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Disputes will be submitted to the courts of British Columbia unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Affiliate Disclosure

CheckPrice.ca does not currently use affiliate links or receive commissions from retailers. We will update this disclosure and clearly identify applicable links before introducing an affiliate relationship.

A retailer link, logo, or product listing does not mean that the retailer endorses CheckPrice.ca. Retailers control their products, prices, availability, shipping, returns, and transactions.
